Classic card games
Do you remember yourself as a child? Classic card games were the activities that brought children, parents and grandparents together. Everyone would sit down in a pile and play. It became a great way to communicate.
What are these classic card games?
You've probably heard of games like Dumbass, Carousel, War, Donkey, Pig, etc. Their rules are very simple, so you don't have to spend a lot of time learning them. And once you've started a game, you don't want it to end. Well, of course, sooner or later it ends, but then the desire for a rematch arises.
On this page you will find the rules of the most popular card games with example moves. It's easy to understand what happens and what follows.
Why play classic card games?
- They encourage communication. Nowadays, everyone is mostly glued to their computer or mobile phone screens. That interconnectedness is disappearing. The D6 team encourages spending as much time as possible socialising, playing and being together.
- For these games, a simple deck of cards is sufficient. Even people who cannot afford to spend money buy cards.
- Simplicity of rules. It only takes 5-10 minutes to understand everything. In this case, you can spend more time on the game itself.
Deck of cards
The most common deck used for the games is 52 cards. What does it contain?
- Card types are wines, clubs, hearts and drums.
- Card ranks - Ace, Deuce, Three of a Kind, Four of a Kind, Five of a Kind, Six of a Kind, Seven of a Kind, Seven of a Kind, Eight of a Kind, Nine of a Kind, Ten of a Kind, Jack, Queen, King.
- Extra cards - wild cards. They come in 2, 3 or 4. In this case, the number of cards varies and the size of the deck is 54, 55 or 56.
- Some games use an incomplete deck: for example, cards higher than 9 are used. In card games, the Ace is either the strongest or the weakest card.
- The King, Queen and Queen of Clubs are present in all card games, but their value varies.
